Materials:
- One orange baby outfit
- Upholstery foam (1” thick)
- Orange felt
- Orange ribbon
- Light green thick or stiff felt
- Baby pilot cap
Tools:
- Hot glue gun & sticks
- Scissors
Instructions:
Create the succulent leaves
-
Cut the leaves: Cut succulent leaves from light green felt.
-
Glue the leaves to the cap: Hot glue the leaves around the edge of the pilot cap so that they frame the face.
-
Glue on second layer of leaves: Glue a second layer of leaves behind the first layer.
-
Create the pot base: Cut two panels of upholstery foam in the shape of a slightly tapered plant pot that fits over the baby’s torso.
-
Add 3D effect to the pot: Cut two slightly smaller plant pot shapes than the foam, from orange felt and glue them to the inside edges of both foam cutouts. The idea for this is to pull the sides of the pot in a bit to give the pot a more 3D rounded shape. Cover both foam pieces with orange felt.
-
Create the top of the pot: Cut two wide plant pot top lips from upholstery foam and cover them with orange felt. Glue these pieces to the top edge of the plant pot pieces.
-
Add ribbon ties: Glue orange ribbon ties to the pot at the shoulders and sides to hold it around the torso.
