Instructions
Don’t let this Halloween slip through your fingers! Peel back your sleeves and get ready for some easy DIY costuming! Our Primary essentials are so soft and comfortable, your little one can go bananas trick or treating!
Create the banana hat
-
Measure the child’s head circumference and divide that number by four. Add a half an inch to this number to give a little room for gluing the pieces together, and this measurement will be the width of the bottom edge of each panel. Cut five matching elongated trapezoids from yellow felt and one from ivory felt.
-
Hot glue three yellow pieces and one ivory piece together along the long edges.
-
Glue the fourth yellow piece over the bottom section of the ivory piece and let it flop down at an angle for the banana peel. Cut the top edge of the yellow piece to a rounded point.
-
Glue a strip of brown felt around the top of the hat.
- Tip: You can also use a giant party hat like in our DIY Pencil costume, but cover it with white paper for a base.
Make the sticker
-
Cut an oval from blue felt.
-
Use yellow fabric paint to paint a bunch of bananas, and write the word “Banana”, and then “#4011” underneath the bananas. (#4011 is the standard PLU number of bananas in grocery stores)
-
Attach this sticker to the front of the shirt with fabric tape.
