Instructions
- Create the headpiece:
- Cut two triangle ear shapes from cardboard, making one larger than the other.
- Trim the bottom edges of each triangle to fit seamlessly onto the headband. Use the curve of the headband to trace and cut.
- Cover each ear with red felt and hot glue together.
- Glue the ears to the headband with the smaller ear on the left, and the larger ear on the right side.
- Use red felt to cover the rest of the headband so it blends in with the costume.
- Wear the headband over the hood of the hoodie.
- Create the tonies® box:
- Cut a large square big enough to cover the child’s torso, from upholstery foam. Then cut 5 more matching pieces.
- Hot glue the foam pieces together to form a cube.
- Cut a hole in the center of the top of the cube large enough for the child’s head to fit through.
- Cut a larger hole in the center of the bottom of the cube for the legs to fit through, leaving extra room to walk in the costume.
- Cut out arm holes on either side of the cube.
- Cover the cube in red felt.
- Add details to the tonies® costume:
- Glue a square of white felt over the top of the cube, and cut out the opening for the head.
- Glue a strip of white felt around the head opening.
- Cut two triangles from cardboard, making one larger than the other.
- Cover the triangles with gray felt. Glue them to the top front of the cube, with the larger triangle on the right, and the smaller triangle on the left.
- Create the black speaker holes with small circles of black felt. Glue the circles on the front of the Tonies costume to match the product’s pattern.
