Materials

• One orange kids outfit
• Orange craft foam sheet
• White craft foam sheet
• Black craft foam sheet
• Cardboard sheet
• Wooden craft stick
• Black marker
• Black felt
• Orange felt
• Stuffing

Tools

• Hot glue gun
• Scissors
• Exacto knife
• Safety pin
• Fabric tape
• Pencil

Instructions:

Make the mask: 

• Use a marker or pencil to draw the silhouette of Petey’s face onto a sheet of cardboard and cut it out. 
• Glue this cutout to a sheet of orange craft foam and trim the foam along the edge of the cardboard cutout.
• Use a pencil to draw Pete’s face onto the foam. 
• Cut out the eye openings.
• Cut the mouth and a strip of white teeth from craft foam and glue them to the mask. Use a black marker to draw the teeth lines onto the white foam.
• Draw a small black nose in the center, and three black dots on either side of the face with a black marker. 
• Outline the head and ears with a black marker.
• Cut and glue three whiskers on either side of the face using black craft foam.
• Glue a craft foam stick to the bottom of the mask.

Create the body stripes: 

• Cut thin strips of black felt and attach them horizontally across the clothing with fabric tape. 

Make the tail: 

• Cut two matching curved tail pieces from orange felt. 
• Glue black felt stripes along both sides of the tail. 
• Glue and stuff the tail together as you glue. Make sure it’s stuffed tightly to keep its shape!
• Safety pin the tail to the back of the pants.
