Instructions
Make Steve's outfit:
-
Put on the outfit: Start with a kid’s blue top and denim bottoms.
-
Create the satchel: To make the satchel, cut a long strip and two squares from brown felt. Hot glue three of edges of the squares together to form the bag. Flip this inside out and attach the long strip for the strap using hot glue.
-
Spray paint the miners hat: For the miner’s hat, take a plastic construction hat and cover with silver and black spray paint.
Make Garret's outfit:
-
Put on the outfit: Start with a kid’s white top, denim bottoms, and pink outerwear for the base.
-
Add embellishments to the jacket: For the jacket, cut a piece of pink craft foam into a diamond shape. Cut up the center of the diamond shape from the bottom corner until you get to the middle. Cut out an oval shape for the neck hole in the center. Attach to the jacket along the zipper using hem tape. Cut equal length strips of pink ribbon and attach along the edges of the foam diamond on the back of the jacket. Cut two long strips of pink foam to follow the jacket seams under the arms. Attach pieces of ribbon along the strip and attach to the sleeves seams under the arms.
Create Chicken Jockey's outfit:
-
Put on the outfit: Start with a green long sleeve top, blue short sleeve top, and yellow bottoms as the base.
-
Create the chicken base: For the chicken start with sheets of thick craft foam and hot glue. Create a five sided rectangular box with an open bottom for the chicken’s body. On the top side of the box, cut a hole toward one side for the child’s waist. Then create another smaller five sided cube with thick foam and hot glue. Attach this to the larger box with some hang over on the front edge for the chicken’s head. Cover the whole thing using fuzzy white fabric and attach it to the foam using hot glue.
-
Create the beak: Cut two squares and three rectangles from yellow craft foam to create the beak. Attach the beak to the chicken’s head using hot glue. Cut a red strip of felt for the wattle and attach to the underside of the beak with hot glue.
-
Create the chicken's feet: For the chicken’s feet cut two more squares and 6 rectangle pieces of yellow craft foam. Hot glue 3 of the rectangles along the edge of the square to form the chicken’s foot. Repeat for the other foot.
-
Create the Zombie's head: For the Zombie’s head, sew or hot glue pieces of stiff green felt to form a cube slightly larger than the child’s head. Cut a hole in one side of the cube to fit their head through. Cut eye, nose, and mouth holes. Add pieces of green peel and stick felt for the ears, brow, and other facial features. Attach a piece of black fur to the top for the zombie’s hair.
-
Make the Zombie's feet: For the zombie’s feet, cut shoe soles from thick brown craft foam. Form the top of the shoe using thin brown craft foam. Taking a smaller pair of gray bottoms, stuff using stuffing. Attach the shoes to the legs of the pants and fold the top of the pants into the waist hole of the chicken.
