Instructions
This is the way. This is DIY Halloween.
For Baby Yoda
For the ears:
- Cut two long pointy ears with a straight bottom edge from green craft foam.
- Cut and glue light pink felt inner ear pieces to the green ears.
- Fold and glue the top and bottom bottom ear edges together to give it some shape.
- Cut two small ovals from green foam to glue the base of the ears to. Attach to the sides of the hood of the zip hoodie with fabric tape.
For the eyes:
- Cut two eyes from black felt and smaller circles of eye reflections from cream felt. Glue together and attach to the hood with fabric tape.
For the cloak:
- Cut a large rectangle from tan felt that is twice the measurement of the child from shoulder to ankle, and as wide as the arms spread out from wrist to wrist. Fold the felt in half hamburger style and cut out a neck opening at the top center folded edge.
For the collar:
- Cut a 6 inch wide strip of cream felt that’s long enough to wrap around the neck opening with a few inches of overlap. Fold the felt in half hot dog style and hot glue it around the collar with the overlapped edges in front.
- Cut two long strips of cream felt and hot glue along the side “sleeve” edges of the cloak. Cut a vertical slit down the center back and collar for the cloak opening. Safety pin it together to wear.
For Mandalorian
For the mask:
- Draw and cut the Mandalorian helmet mask from cardboard.
- Cut out a thin horizontal slit for the eyes to see through.
- Hot glue the mask to a sheet of white craft foam and trace and cut the foam to match the cardboard.
- Paint the mask silver and then paint the black details.
- Hot glue an elastic band to the back of the mask to fit around the child’s head.
For the vest:
- Use the cream, tan, and a sheet of brown felt to cut and glue the front vest pieces together.
- Use black felt to make the back of the vest and shoulder straps. Hot glue together and cut a slit down the center back of the vest for the opening.
- Use safety pins to attach in the back.
For the cape:
- Cut a rectangle from black felt and trim the top to fit across the shoulders.
- Cut the bottom edge to look raggedy and attach the cape to the back vest piece with safety pins.
For the armor pieces:
- Cut rectangle wrist bands, thigh pieces, shoulder pieces and boot piece from brown, gray, and cream felt.
- Cut and glue gray “bullet” pieces onto the boot piece.
- Attach to the body with fabric tape.
