Slaying demons (and Halloween) one DIY at a time! After the hit movie broke records on Netflix, it's no surprise KPop Demon Hunters is the most popular concierge requests of the season.  Learn how to make Rumi, Mira and Zoe's outfits, demon-fighting accessories and all!

Materials:

For Rumi:

• One white kids top
• One yellow kids cardigan
• One blue kids bottom
• White felt
• Magenta felt
• Light pink felt
• Yellow felt
• Black felt
• Light gray felt
• White craft foam sheet 
• Gold craft foam sheet
• Black ribbon 1” wide
• White ribbon ¼” wide
• Thin wooden dowel
• Fabric paint in black, red, teal, & yellow 
• Fabric tape
• Safety pins

For Zoey:

• One blue kids outfit
• Yellow felt
• Magenta felt
• Black felt
• Teal ribbon 1” wide
• Black ribbon 1” wide
• White ribbon ¼” wide
• White craft foam sheet
• Gold craft foam sheet
• Silver fabric paint
• Safety pins
• Fabric tape

For Mira: 

• One black kids outfit
• Yellow felt
• Black felt
• Magenta felt
• Light gray felt
• Magenta, light blue, purple, silver, and gold fabric paint
• Black ribbon 1” wide
• White ribbon ¼” wide
• Silver chains
• White craft foam sheets 12”x18”
• Gold craft foam sheets 12”x18”
• Cardboard
• Wooden dowel ¾” thick
• Safety pins
• Fabric tape

• Scissors
• Hot glue gun and sticks
• Wire Cutters

Instructions:

For Rumi:

For the jacket: 

• Create the patches for the jacket: Use fabric paint and felt to create all the colorful and fun patches for Rumi's jacket.

• Attach patches to the cardigan: Once dry, attach them to the sunflower cardigan using fabric tape. 

• Cut and glue ovals to create spikes: Cut an oval from black felt that fits over the shoulder. Glue four black cone shaped spikes onto the oval

• Attach spikes to cardigan: attach this piece to the left shoulder with fabric tape.

• Attach black ribbon trim to cardigan: Use a 1” wide black ribbon for the jacket trim and attach with fabric tape. 

For the shorts:

• Create and attach the belt for the shorts: Cut a belt from magenta felt and attach around the waist with a safety pin. Add fabric tape if necessary to hold it onto the waistband of the shorts. 

• Create the tassel and pin to the hip: Make a tassel from light pink felt. Glue a loop of thin white ribbon at the top of the tassel and safety pin it to the right hip. 

For the sword: 

• The sword handle: The thin wooden dowel will be sandwiched between two layers of craft foam to create the sword.

• Create the sword and glue together: Cut two matching sword blades from white craft foam. Hot glue them together along the top & sides, leaving a pocket opening at the bottom for the dowel to slide into. 

• Cut and glue foam to the handle: Cut and glue two layers of gold craft foam for the hilt, leaving an opening for the rest of the dowel to slide into.

Hair and Accessories: 

• Design the hair: Braid the hair and use purple hair chalk to create Rumi’s hair. Or use a pre-braided purple wig. 

• Accessorize: Add two silver chain necklaces, layered together.

For Zoey:

For the top:

• Add ribbon to the top: Attach a strip of 1” wide black ribbon across the chest with fabric tape. Glue two black ribbon neck straps to the center of the chest ribbon. Attach the ribbon around the neck with a safety pin.

• Create zipper and attach to the top: Cut thin strips of black felt to make the center zipper and the side pocket zippers. Use silver fabric paint to make a thin line for the “zipper” on these felt pieces. Attach them to the top with fabric tape. 

• Create a lotus flower and attach to the top: Cut a lotus flower from magenta felt and attach it to the right side of the chest with fabric tape. 

For the pants:

• Cut felt panels and attach to pants: Use yellow felt to make the wide panels on the lower half of the pants. Make wide, diagonal yellow felt stripes across the upper half of the back of the pants. Use fabric tape to attach the felt.

• Attach ribbon to pants: Attach two lengths of 1” wide teal ribbon looping from the front of the pants, to the back center with safety pins or fabric tape to create the hanging “suspenders” from Zoey’s waist. 

• Create the tassel and pin to pants: Create a yellow felt tassel with a white ribbon loop at the top, and safety pin it to the left hip.

For the weapons:

• Create daggers: Use white craft foam to make the two sets of three small daggers. Glue them fanned out and together at the base. 

• Create the tassel and glue to daggers: Make a yellow felt tassel for each set of daggers and glue them to the base of each set.

Hair & Accessories:

• Design the hair: Tie the hair in two low buns or use a black wig with bangs and buns.

• Accessorize: Make two gold bangles from gold craft foam.

For Mira: 

Create the t-shirt design:

• Design the top panel: Use magenta, light blue, purple & white fabric paint to paint Mira’s t-shirt design onto a sheet of black felt. Follow the instructions on the bottle for setting the paint. 

• Attach panel to top: Attach this panel to the front of the tee with fabric tape.

Make the skirt:

• Create the panels and glue together: Cut an A line panel of yellow felt for the front of the skirt, and two longer panels for the back. The back panels should overlap quite a bit to make it a wrap skirt. Hot glue the side skirt seams and safety pin the skirt wrapped around the child’s waist to wear it. 

• Draw skirt details: Use gold fabric paint to draw fake skirt seams on the front panel. Make belt loops, a seam down the center with a “seam” for a zipper, and pocket lines. 

• Cut chains and attach to skirt: With wire cutters, cut two silver chains that drape from the front center of the skirt to the back center.

• Glue on button: Hot glue a circle of gray felt for the “button” over the chains to hold them in place. Hot glue a circle of yellow felt over the other ends of the chain at the back of the skirt. 

• Create tassel and attach to skirt: Make a tassel from magenta felt with a white ribbon loop, and glue it to the left pocket. 

For the boots:

• The black leggings will be the boots: Use the black leggings for the boots. 

• Cut and attach magenta felt: Cut the knee patches from magenta felt and attach them with fabric tape. 

Create the polearm weapon:

• Create the blades: Use two sheets of white craft foam to cut two matching large blades. Cut a slightly smaller sheet of cardboard to sandwich between the white foam blade pieces. Hot glue these pieces together. 

• Attach foam to base of blade: Cut and glue a gold craft foam blade holder with a pocket for the dowel to fit inside, at the base of the blade. 

• Wrap the rest of the dowel: Use white and gold craft foam to cover the rest of the dowel by wrapping a strip of foam around the handle and gluing the ends together.

• Create spear pieces and glue to polearm: Cut two matching spear pieces from white craft foam and glue them over the bottom end of the polearm. 

Hair & Accessories:

• Design the hair: Use pink hair chalk to color the hair and tie two high pigtails using just the front section of hair. Leave two long bang sections in front of the pigtails. Alternatively, you could use a long pink wig and style the hair accordingly.
• Create the choker: Make the choker from black ribbon. Glue an oval of white craft foam in the center and secure the necklace together with fabric tape.
