This Halloween, let your little one become the rockstar they truly are with our Primary DIY Elvis costume for baby. We Can't Help Falling in Love with this iconic look. Elvis is known as the King of Rock and Roll, and you'll be known as the King of Crafty Costumes as soon as you're done Takin' Care of Business with this easy project, using our comfy Primary essentials. They might still be crawling, but it's never too early to moonwalk (...just go with it!)

For the velour prep:

  • Cut out the following pieces of velour:
  • Bell Bottoms: two triangles, sides should be 6", 6" and 3"
  • Belt: one 3" strip, long enough to go around the baby's belly, plus 1 inch
  • Cape: one 18-24" circle of velour depending on baby's size (the circle's diameter should reach roughly from elbow to elbow).

For the bell-bottoms:

  • Optional: Hem the 3" (bottom) edge of the triangles.
  • Rip the romper side seams from the leg cuffs to about 6" up.
  • Match the longer edges of the triangles with the edges of the leg, being sure that the velour faces out and the short edge is in line with the bottom of the cuffs. Sew in place.

For the belt:

  • Fold the strip of velour lengthwise, good sides together, and sew one short end and the long side. Turn right-side out.
  • Hand-sew to tack in place at the hips with a few stitches, then add snaps to close the belt under the belly.

For the cape:

  • Fold the circle of velour in half, good sides together, and sew around the edge, leaving a hole. Turn right-side out.
  • Top-stitch around the curved side. Center the cape at the back of the neck and hand-sew in place across shoulders and down arms.

For the decorations:

  • Using puffy paint, add gold trim around cuffs, bell-bottoms, and the curved edge of the cape.
  • Add an all-over print to the arms and legs, and a big, elaborate design to the chest.

For the final touches:

  • This DIY can stand on it's own, but add a pair of reflective sunglasses and a pair of eyeliner side burns to complete the look. And maybe a pair of blue suede booties!
