-
Create the headscarf: Cut a thin headscarf from red felt and trim the ends to a point.

Create the belt: Cut a wide belt from red felt and trim the ends to a point.
-
Outline the sword: Use a marker to draw a sword that includes the blade and handle, onto a sheet of heavy duty cardboard.
-
Cut out the sword: Cut the sword out and glue the blade section sandwiched between gray craft foam. Trim the foam to the blade shape.
-
Create the cross guard: For the cross guard, cut two matching ovals from gold craft foam and glue them together with the gold sides facing out. Cut a slit in the center of the cross guard that’s long enough for the cardboard blade handle to fit through. Slide the cross guard onto the cardboard handle to the edge of the gray blade.
-
Glue on the gold foam: Glue a rectangle of gold craft foam over the cardboard handle of the sword.

-
Draw the center ridge of the sword: Use a black marker to draw a curved line down the center of both sides of the blade to create the center ridge.
-
Create the base of the hook: Cut a rectangle of black felt that is wide enough to wrap around the child’s hand. Glue the short ends of the felt together to form a tube.
-
Glue top of the base: Make 4 equal cuts 2-3 inches from the top edge of the tube. Fold and glue each cut flap over each other to close the top of the tube.
-
Create the hooks: Draw and cut two matching hooks from gray craft foam. Glue them together.
-
Attach the hooks to the base: Cut a slit in the center of the top of the felt tube that’s wide enough for the bottom hook end to fit through. Glue the hook in place.
