Instructions:
For the hair:
-
Use a red baby beanie as a base.
-
Use the black acrylic marker or another marker size to achieve the loop width desired for the curly bangs. Hold the marker along the bottom edge of the beanie and with a tapestry needle and red yarn, loop the yarn around the marker, catching the needle through a small section of the beanie each time you loop the yarn around the marker. Once the marker is full of loops, pull it out and repeat along the bottom of the beanie and 3-4 rows up. Knot the ends of the yarn to keep them from slipping out.
-
Wrap red yarn around a sheet of cardboard about 10” long until it feels full enough for a pigtail. Thread a length of red yarn through a tapestry needle and run it under one end of the looped yarn, and tie together. Cut the yarn ends along the opposite edge and remove from the cardboard sheet. Hot glue a circle of red felt over the tied end of the pigtail to make an easy attachment point to the beanie. Use a piece of red yarn to tie the pigtail together a couple inches below the base of the pigtail. Repeat for the second pigtail.
-
Hot glue the pigtails to the beanie.Tie a ribbon around the base of the pigtail where it connects to the beanie.
For the dress bib:
-
Cut a rectangle from white felt for the dress bib.
-
Place this felt inside the dress to trace the front collar shape with a fabric marker. Cut out the curve of the collar from the felt.
-
Glue white lace trim along the outer edges of the bib.
-
Glue white ribbon ties to the top corners of the bib to tie it around the collar.
For the box:
-
With the box standing in a vertical position - the longest sides of the box standing up - cut a wide U shape from the top of the box using a utility knife. Extend this cut line down the front of the box with a half circle cutout along the base. Then cut the entire bottom of the box out. Now cut almost the entire back of the box out, leaving about a 2 inch strip along the left and right sides. Measure the distance between your stroller handles and cut a half circle from the back top edge of the box to accommodate the stroller handles.
-
Paint the outside of the box yellow. Use green, beige, pink, blue, orange, and yellow paint to create the Cabbage Patch Kids logo in the half circle shape at the bottom of the box. Use a black acrylic marker to outline the logo details.
-
Cut a large panel of green felt for the back of the box. Cut it several inches wider and longer than the box to give it room to scrunch in the stroller seat. Glue the top and side edges of the felt to the back of the box. Cut openings in the felt for the stroller seat buckles.
