Buzz Lightyear

For Hawthorne's uniform, cut 4 rectangles from black peel and stick felt. Attach 2 to the shoulders for the Epaulettes and 2 across the chest for the pockets.
Cut two triangles and 3 long strips of yellow felt and attach to the dress and bottom using hem tape.
Cut out a winged rocket ship shape from yellow felt, 2 small blue felt triangles, 3 small orange felt triangles and 1 black felt trapezoid. Attach to the chest of the dress using adhesive sheets or hem tape.

Cut 4 long strips of gray felt and attach these to the front of the kids top and bottom using hem tape. Cut 2 rounded rectangle shapes from gray felt and attach to the shoulders with hem tape as well.
For Lightyear's vest, cut 2 vest shapes from black felt for the front and back of Lightyear's vest. Cut 4 rectangle strips of black felt for the shoulder straps and side straps of the vest. Attach these together to form a vest using hot glue.
Cut another vest shape slightly smaller than your first using a sheet of black foam (or even gray felt for an easier version).
Cut the foam vest shape into smaller shapes like a puzzle. Paint the black foam pieces with silver paint.
Depending on the thickness of the foam, you can bevel the edges of the pieces using an exacto knife. Once they've dried attach these foam pieces to the black felt vest using hot glue.
Paint the bottle cap red and attach to the front of the vest using hot glue. Decorate the rest of the vest with silver and red paint pens.
