Materials

• One gray kids outfit
• One STATE astronaut backpack
• Black felt
• White felt
• Red felt
• Blue felt
• Small bits of yellow, orange & green felt
• Black marker

Tools

• Scissors
• Hot glue gun
• Double sided fabric tape

Instructions

Make the helmet face shield: 

• Cut a large circle of black felt that fits over the hood. 
• Glue two white felt “reflections” to two opposite corners.
• Glue felt circle “hinges” on either side of the face shield.

Create arm and leg bands: 

• Cut strips of red, blue, and white felt and glue them together to make the arm and leg bands. 
• Attach them around the arms and legs with double sided fabric tape.

Make the patches: 

• Use bits of colorful felt to make fun patches for the space suit such as a name tag, planets, stars, etc. 
• Attach the patches to the clothing with double sided fabric tape. 
• Add the astronaut STATE backpack and you're ready to go!
