Materials

For Ariel:

• One purple kids dress
• Shimmery fabric
• Ruffle trim
• Hem tape
• Elastic
• Optional: One seashell fanny pack from STATE Bags

For Prince Eric:

• One white kids top
• One brown kids bottom
• Navy felt
• Gray bandana
• Black boots

Tools

• Scissors
• Iron

Instructions

For Ariel:

• Cut a rectangular piece of shimmery fabric.
• Using hem tape, iron together the ends of the rectangle to form a long skirt.
• Cut a piece of elastic the length of the waistband of of the tank dress. Fold over one side of the shimmery fabric skirt to create a waistband.
• Make sure that the area you fold over is wide enough for your elastic to fit into.
• Using an iron, seal the seam using hem tape, leaving a small space to feed the elastic through.
• Feed the elastic through and tie together using a knot. Seal the rest of the seam using hem tape.
• Lay the tail flat and trim the bottom sides to form a point. Using hem tape, add ruffled trim along the cut sides of the skirt.
• Add your seashell fanny pack as the perfect accessory for trick or treating!

For Prince Eric:

• Cut a back and two sides of a vest out of navy felt.
• Cut another longer strip for the collar.
• Attach these at the seams using hem tape and an iron.
