Snowman in a Snow Globe

Materials:

• One kids outfit in white

• Clear umbrella

• Transparent fishing wire

• White pom poms

• Red posterboard, 1-2 sheets

• Black craft foam, two 12x18” sheets

• White craft foam, one 12x18” sheet

• Black circle sunglasses

• Orange craft foam, one 9x12” sheet

• Blue felt (any color for the scarf)

• Black felt

• Black marker

• Fabric tape

• Clear packing tape

Tools: 

• Scissors

• Hot glue gun and sticks

Instructions: 

For the snowman:

• Cut a large circle: from black craft foam for the brim of the top hat.

• Carefully cut out: a circle from the center of this piece that’s large enough to fit the child’s head.

• Save this inner circle: for the top of the hat.

• Cut and glue two strips: of black craft foam together to make one long strip for the crown of the hat.

• Glue all the pieces: together to make the top hat. Glue a white strip of craft foam around the base of the crown for the hat band. 
  

• Cut a wide triangle: from orange craft foam for the carrot nose.

• Roll the triangle: into a long cone shape and glue together. 

• Draw a few short horizontal lines: across for the carrot details and glue it to the bridge of the glasses. 

• Cut a long strip of felt: for the snowman’s scarf and fringe cut the ends. 

• Cut black felt: “coal” buttons and with fabric tape, attach 2-3 along the center front of the white top. 

• Use the: black circle sunglasses for the “coal” eyes.

For the snow globe: 

• Glue white pom poms: spaced out along transparent fishing wire to make the look of falling snow.

• Use clear tape: to attach these strings of snow around the inside top of the umbrella. 

• Cut two long panels: from red poster board.

• Tape them together: to make one long strip for the base of the snow globe.

• Use clear packing tape: to tape the posterboard along the bottom edge of the umbrella.
