Alien in a UFO

For the headpiece:

Twist two sets of three pipe cleaners together for antennas. Glue a green pom pom to the top of each antennae.
Cut two leaf shaped ears from green felt.
Pinch and glue the bottom of each together to give it a more 3-D ear shape. Glue an ear to the base of each antenna and glue them to either side of the beanie, tucking it in between the hat fold.
Glue two large teardrop shaped black felt eyes to the front of the beanie.

For the UFO:

Cut two large circles from thick gray felt. Cut a smaller circle in the center of each circle panel that is large enough for the baby to fit through.
Cut a long strip of gray felt that’s a few inches wide for the inner circle opening, and a thinner strip of gray felt for the outer circle edge. Glue the strips in place.
Cut blue and gold craft foam circle “lights” with a corresponding slightly larger gray felt circle for each light. Hot glue the lights evenly spaced around the top of the UFO.
Cut a length of iridescent fringe that wraps around the inner UFO circle. Fold a length of masking tape over the top edge of the fringe to give the glue something to grab onto when glueing around the inner circle.

If making this costume for an older child who is walking, add green felt straps to the inner top edge of the UFO to hold it up.
