For the ears: Cut two sets of ears from orange felt ((see our ear tutorial here:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-BAFDcK5OvY). Hot glue each set together and pinch the bottom edge and glue together to give the ears some shape. Cut some skinny pieces of bright pink felt and hot glue them along the top outer edge of each ear. Hot glue the ears to a rigid headband
For the mask: Cut the mask from 2 layers of bright pink felt. Hot glue an elastic band to the sides of one of the masks. Hot glue the other mask on top, sandwiching the elastic inside.
For the top: Use a fabric paint pen to draw an oval on each shoulder and an arch on each side of the shirt. Draw and cut out a kitty head shape from yellow felt. Cut a heart shape from bright pink felt. Hot glue the pink heart to the middle of the kitty head. Attach the kitty head to the top using double sided fabric tape.
For the belt: Cut a wide belt from blue felt to fit around the child’s waist, leaving extra room to overlap and tape together. (You may need to cut 2 pieces to get enough length. Overlap them a little and hot glue together.) Cut a rectangular belt buckle from bright pink felt. Glue the buckle to the center of the belt. Use double sided fabric tape or safety pins to secure the belt around the waist in the back.
For the tail: Cut a long rectangle from the orange felt, fold it in half and hot glue together along one short edge and the long edge. Turn the tail inside out so that the seam is on the inside. Cut skinny pieces of bright pink felt and hot glue them around the tail every few inches. Twist pipe cleaners together and stuff them inside the tail. Stuff the tail with polyfil or scraps. Hot glue the open end closed and use safety pins to attach the tail to the pants.
For the bottoms: Use a fabric paint pen to draw a line down each leg on the front and the back of the pants.
For the wrist and ankle bands: Cut two long rectangles to fit around the wrists and two long rectangles to fit around the bottom of the legs from blue felt and attach with safety pins or fabric tape.
